Jessica focuses on early to late-stage venture investments across a wide range of sectors at Norwest, with an emphasis on the enterprise and infrastructure spaces. Prior to Norwest, Bill was a Partner in the business and finance group of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, where he was involved with mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and private equity financings, and public company financings. ![]() ![]() In this role, Bill is responsible for deal structuring, advising Norwest partners on portfolio legal issues, advising Norwest portfolio companies on transactions and negotiations, fund structuring and administration, and regulatory compliance across multiple geographies. As a partner and general counsel, Bill works closely with Norwest investment professionals, co-investors, board members, and portfolio company founders and CEOs on a wide variety of legal activities across Norwest’s global fund. Matt holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, with an emphasis in information systems, and a Master of Science degree in telecommunications management.Bill brings more than 20 years of legal experience to Norwest Venture Partners. The 5 software patents were achieved while working with Norwest portfolio companies. Matt holds 1 patent in mobility and 4 in cybersecurity. He is a College of Engineering Dean’s Advocacy Council Member at Carnegie Mellon University and was previously a consultant to the Defense Venture Catalyst Initiative program for the Department of Defense.
